HalcyArt Show - Saturday, Dec. 2, 4-8pm

We will be selling blankets at the fifth annual HalcyArt Show in Nashville, TN on Saturday, December 2, 4:00-8:00pm.

Location: Kim and Hal’s house at 1100 Halcyon Avenue, corner of 11th and Halcyon
and John and Wendy's house, next door at 1104 Halcyon Avenue.

Artists: We'll feature the anchor-artists you so look forward to seeing every year, (like Manuel Terán and his Ecuadorian handicrafts and Margaret Krakowiak, who always surprises us with something new) and new HalcyArtists' work, including children's blankets, knitted shawls, and guitars - all made by hand.

Shop Creatively: As you well know by now, your holiday shopping won’t be complete until you check out the handmade silver jewelry, paintings, photography, and pottery offered by our favorite local artists. Why shop in the mall when you can shop in the 'hood?

Be sure and arrive hungry and thirsty for the tasty morsels and wine supplied by our hosts and by sponsor Christy Shuff (owner of Rumours Wine and Art Bar).

Circle the date in your book with glittery pens and draw stars in the margins to remind yourself of the cozy and festive occasion you expect to experience at HalcyArt 2006 when you come, bringing twenty of your closest friends.

Please forward to friends!

The Brighton Baby Story

When I (Ali) was pregnant with my youngest son, I couldn't find any bedding that I liked. So on a whim I decided to try come up with something myself.

I got so many compliments on the blanket I made that I started to wonder if I should start making and selling them. I shared my idea with my good friend Sondra and we decided that we should do it together. We both loved to sew and loved the idea of being able to work and still be at home with our children.

We decided that we needed a little something to make our blankets even more unique. I remembered a little stuffed giraffe that had been given to my husband when he was a baby that we had passed down to our two boys. It was their favorite thing to carry around, sleep with, chew on and so easy to clean -- just throw it in the washing machine. So we decided we'd replicate them and that would be our trademark.

And so began Brighton Baby. We hope you love our blankets and think they are as special as we do.
